Are you tired of feeling tired?  Are  you a trauma survivor who desires  learning the skills for living a recovery lifestyle? Are you enslaved to an addiction?  Do you avoid your feelings through self-destructive behaviors?  Are you  searching for your life’s purpose or  finding yourself overwhelmed with  daily tasks?  If you would like to  gain perspective, self-confidence,  and mood stability, counseling can initiate this journey.
My professional experience includes working with Network180 as a Juvenile Court Liaison to the 17th Circuit Court Family Division, Residential and IOP SA therapist at Turning Point Programs, outpatient therapist at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, and contractual private practice work including the Strengthening Families Program through Living Water Ministries and the 17th Circuit Court Family Division.
Along with a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy, I am skilled at utilizing EMDR techniques.  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a powerful method of psychotherapy. EMDR seems to have a direct effect on the way that the brain processes information.  EMDR appears to be replicating what occurs naturally during REM sleep.  It is a physiologically based therapy that helps a person see disturbing material in a new and less distressing way.
The American Psychiatric Association lists EMDR as an effective treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.  The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense also supports its use. Most recent studies have also shown EMDR benefits chronic pain and co-occurring disorders.  I have helped individuals with school and social phobias, mood disorders, fears, eating disorders, and complicated trauma.
Payment is expected at the end of the session; I am willing to bill private insurances and encourage you to contact me directly with questions.
